PRESSRELEASE SEPTEMBER 2010 LOYANDFORD- Prepare to return to the United States Hollywood, CA (Thursday, September 2, 2010) - The infamous design duo of Stefan Loy and Frank Ford of the internationally successful LOYANDFORD collection prepare to return to Los Angeles. Established in 1999 Stefan Loy and Frank Ford located themselves in design studio and retail space on Chung King Road in China Town and launched LOYANDFORD. Forging the way for Downtown to become an Art and Fashion epicenter. The LOYANDFORD collection started a fashion revolution in Los Angeles; with their one-of-a-kind designs. The LOYANDFORD collection was immediately embraced, and the designer's services were enlisted to create stage outfits for pop icons such as, Christina Aguilera, Courtney Love, Britney Spears, Aerosmith, The Rolling Stones, Jennifer Lopez and Cher. Designer, Ford recalls "One day I was watching MTV and saw four videos back to back featuring LOYANDFORD designs" he continues "I thought to myself this is amazing, first Gwen Stefani, then Shirley Manson, Courtney Love and Britney Spears, this is Rock n' Roll". The LOYANDFORD collection has been worn by such A list Hollywood starlets like Reese Witherspoon, Angelina Jolie, Scarlett Johansson, Nicole Kidman, Drew Barrymore, Cameron Diaz and Jessica Alba. By 2001, the LOYANDFORD collection had been picked up by a multi-brand contemporary showroom and in 2002 the Fashion Director of Barneys, New York Julie Gilhart, discovered them. Soon the LOYANDFORD collection was available on the floors of the most prestigious stores nationally and internationally. In 2005, the design duos were chosen to present their designs at the Smithsonian, as well as the MOMA's Lincoln Icon Award. What began, as a modest bespoke company became a multi million-dollar brand internationally renowned brand in just six years! In 2007, the designers began what is best described as an artistic influence tour, traveling from Finland to Tunisia and lasting two years the designers sourced new production methods, fabric sources, and cultural resources. However, the designers feeling burnt out from the constant traveling decided it was time to stop and savor their success and decided to take some time off from mass production and return to a simpler way of life and design. They moved to Ibiza and began designing the new generation of LOYANDFORD out of their beach house studio, followed by opening the LOYANDFORD White Horse boutique. With restored vigor and creativity as well as a bevy of new productions partners the LOYANDFORD brand is poised to take on the fashion world. The designer's are determined to shake things up and redefine fashion, as we know it. About the collection LOYANDFORD is known for blending traditional tailoring with elements of deconstruction, re thinking traditional pattern making and applying unconventional techniques that result in sexy shapes. Often choosing to use colors that are anti-complimentary and fabrics that have been treated to change the initial identity suddenly become non aggressive, provocative, harmonious garments that are sophisticated, chic, effortless, modern with an intrinsic punk rock sensibility. About the designers Stefan Loy Co-founder/Designer German born Loy attended the MEISTERSCHULE DER MODE Academy of Fashion. He began his career in fashion as a model, during his travels he met Frank Ford and the two inspiring designers started the successful street wear brand 3000. While the brand was a success the designers parted ways in 1994, and Loy moved to New York and began a solo project designing ROSENBAUM, which sold in tony shops such as Antike Boutique, Patricia Fields and Red Balls. But as luck would have it the two designers reconnected in Los Angeles in 1999 and formed the LOYANDFORD collection. Loy currently lives in Ibiza and continues to grow the LOYANDFORD brand. Frank Ford Co-founder/Designer German born Ford began his career in fashion as a retail manager and visual director. Ford quickly became the premier the window dresser in Germany. In 1989, Ford and Stefan Loy formed the successful street wear brand 3000, however in 1994 Ford moved to the US and worked as a celebrity stylist, often utilizing his design skills to dress his clients. In 1999 he and Stefan Loy established the LOYANDFORD brand. Ford currently lives in Ibiza and continues to grow the LOYANDFORD brand. |
